Music Production

Do you love the idea of working in a professional sound studio, recording bands or mixing and editing audio recordings? Are you passionate about music and sound? Could you see yourself working behind-the-scenes in live events, film, TV or radio? Whether your dream is to record, create, produce, edit, mix or master, this course will give you an in-depth understanding of the operational, technical and theoretical aspects of the audio industry, with a focus on studio recording and production, live sound production and sound design.

GarageBand

GarageBand is a whole music creation studio made by Apple, that is complete with a sound library which includes software instruments, presets for guitar and voice, and virtual session drummers. This basically allows the user to create music

I produce my own music on my phone or tablet using the app GarageBand which is a very easy app to use. I’ve been using this app for 2 years now and when I first got it I thought it was useless and not even helpful for my music, but when I understood how to use the app with some help off the internet, I got back on the app and started to make music. I’m still making music now but there are always other apps to use to make your own music and there’s always another way to produce the sound of the music and remember that technology can help you.

In GarageBand, you can plug in your own instruments to help record the sounds. This can be your guitar, piano, drums or even a microphone for those vocals. In the app, you will be able to edit the sounds, add synths and use custom instruments in app that you do not have. All the things you need to produce your music are at your fingertips.

GarageBand is free for devices on iOS 7 and above, as well as on OS X Mavericks and above. If you are serious about music production and want more cool stuff, you can buy the additional instruments and sounds for $4.99, one-time purchase.

Download GarageBand on iOS and OS X.

"I was an artist. I was executive producer on my first album, so I've always had to manage both. I couldn't get a record deal. It wasn't by choice - I couldn't get a record deal, so I had to figure it out.” - Jay-Z

You can do it by yourself, no need for a record company to produce the music you want, but you can do it by yourself for yourself.
