Should We Buy Accessories To Stay Fit?

We’ve all seen commercials on tv, youtube, billboards and other platforms regarding accessories or certain elements of a type of food in order to stay or become fit. And we have also seen people who workout or exercise using varying accessories and equipment and those that do not. The reason I’m here today is to provide you with information and to help you get a better understanding of these accessories and if they are necessary or essential to help you stay or get fit.


First off, what are these accessories and what do they do? Well, one group of accessories is compression sportswear, this specific type of sportswear has said to do many things and have many purposes. For example, all compression sportswear or most of them, provide warmth preventing muscle strain. It is also said that each can be slightly different regarding purposes. For example, compression sportswear worn on the legs help prevent deep vein thrombosis and reduce swelling other compression wear can help blood circulate within your body helping you recover quicker.


An article created by a person named Brittany Smith on Mens Fittness.com showed a study from the International Journal of Sports Physiology and Performance showing statistics that compression sportswear seems to have no significant effect to those not engaging in “explosive movements” unlike marathon running. These include the following as Brittany stated, “ Fear not if you’re a sprinter, a basketballer, or a bodybuilder, though. Compression gear can be advantageous in situations where an athlete is engaging in explosive movements, like sprinting, leaping and jerking”. With what we have covered so far we can see what these accessories are capable of and where they are advantageous in certain areas in sports.

Now that we know what these accessories do what about the “to stay/become fit part”. The definition of fit according to google definitions is “in good health, especially because of regular physical exercise.” So with that, we can say to stay fit we stay healthy, especially physical exercise, it doesn’t say with the use of any accessory or equipment. Yes, we have equipment and accessories to help exercise certain areas and such but that has nothing to do with the definition of fit. As we said, to stay fit is to stay healthy.


With everything we have covered here, it would seem these accessories are not necessary to stay fit but can be proven to help and be advantageous to us in certain activities. Although pretty much everyone knows that. We covered why and what they do and are, but what about how? If you have come here for the part where it says to stay or become fit you know how to, if you have come for the part where it says accessory then you have your answer but if you’re here for both, then you’re here for my opinion. And my opinion is to stop surfing the internet for other people’s opinions and to work out how YOU want to workout. There is a reason why you’re here which is why it is best for you to go out there and workout or exercise how you want to. You want compression shorts, go right ahead, you don’t want them then don’t get them, but remember, “A person is their strongest when being strong is the only option they have” - Anonymous, 2017. You can get any accessory you want or not wear any or use any, as long as you try to your fullest, then you will get your results.
